Sadie Collins Bellamy
Sadie Collins Bellamy, 78, of
710 Mason Terrace No. 12, died
March 2 at a local hospital. Bom in
Thomasville to the late Seaborn and
Rosa Lee Langley Collins and the
widow of Franklin James Belkuny.
She was retired from Perfecto
Garcia Cigar Co. She was a
Methodist and active in crochet and
crafts.
Survivors: son, Frank
Bellamy of Perry, two sisters,
Minnie Cone and Rebecca
Boatwright both of Tampa, Fla.;
brother, Herbert Collins of Tampa,
Fla.; two grandchildren and one
great grandchild.
Services: Were held March 4
at Blount Funeral Home Chapel in
Tampa, Fla., with burial in the
Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Rev. Brian
Collins officiated. Watson-Hunt
Funeral Home had charge of local
arrangements.
Thelma Nipper Watson
Thelma Nipper Watson, 64, died
March 1, at a load nursing home.
Bom in Houston County, she
was the daughter of die late Thomas
Jackson and Birdie Adell Farr
Nipper. She was a homemaker and
life long resident o! IVny She
attended First Baptist Church v. hero
she was a member of the Wilma
Gay Sunday School Class.
Survivors: husband. Herbert
L. Watson of Perry, two daughters.

Stembridge Brown. 72. of 502
Park man Drive. Manchester, died
Feb. 28 in an Atlanta Hospital. She
was die daughter ol the late Green
and Nonie Dcesc Stembridge.
Formerly of Perry, she had resided
m Manchester for 22 years, where
she was a member of the First
United Methodist Church.
Survivors: Two sons. Richard
Brown of Flowery Branch. Ga
mut Emory Brown ol Anderson,
S.C.. one sister, Mrs. Calvin
Stuckey of Columbus. two
brothers. Neal Stembridge of Rock
Hill. S.C. and Horace Stembridge
of Perry, and two grandchildren.
Services: Held Mar. 2 at Perry
Memorial Gardens. Rev. Queon
Smith officiated. Watson-Hunt

Charlie Lee Gordon
Charlie Lee Gordon died Feb.
25 in a local hospital. Born in
Houston County, she was the
daughter of the late Sam and Middie
Jackson and was the widow of Pat
Gordon. She was a member of
Mount Zion Baptist Church, where
she served as the mother of the
church. She was also a member of
Good Samaritan Lodge No. 5.
Survivors: children, Jerry Mae
Gordon and Charlie Mae Rouse,
both of Macon and sister. Johnnie
Mae Carter of Tifton.
Services: Held March 1 in

"Pup" Lester Sr. of 360 Barrett
Road, Died Feb. 25, 1995, in a
local hospital. Born in Pulaski
County, he was the son of the late
Matt and Hattie Pulmer. He was a
member of the Pleasant Grove
Baptist Church and was a retired
fanner.
Survivors: wife, Christine
Lester of Hawkinsvilie; Children,
Matthew Sheffield, Mack Lester Sr.
and Shenita Beinbry, all of
Hawkinsvilie, Givins Lester Jr. of
Milton, Fla., Darren Lester of
Athens, Sinclair Lester of Augusta,
Gwendolyn Grace of Perry. Rhetta
Jean Jackson of Pensacola, Fla.,
and Julia Moon, Louella Lester and
Christine Gibson, all of Atlanta;
sister, Viola Thomas of
Youngston, Ohio; 26 grandchildren;
30 great-grandchildren: and one
great-great-grandchild.
Services were held March 2 in
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with
burial at Lester Cemetery in Elko.

HAWKINSVILLE Terry
Kemp, 85, of 138 Thunder Road.
Route 1. Hawkinsvilie. died March
4. He was the son of the late
William Emmett and Lena Hill
Kemp. Coming from Austell, he
had resided in Hawkinsvilie for 45
years. He was married to the late
Annie T. Kemp. Mr. Kemp was a
Baptist and was retired from Robins
Air Force Base where he worked in
sheet metal maintenance. He was a
WW II Army veteran.
Survivors: daughters: Alice
K. Knight of Hayneville and Cheri
K. Williams of Hawkinsvilie, sons;
Harold G. Kemp of Centerville,
David A. Kemp of Douglesville,
and Stanley Kemp of Hayneville,
11 grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren
Services: Were held March 5
at the Elliott-Gary Cemetery in
Atlanta. The Rev. Steve Kemp
officiated. Watson-Hunt Funeral

arrangements.

March 2. Bom in Lansing. Mich..
to Gerald Linn and the late Agnes
Lucille Britenbach Linn, he had
resided here since 1988. He was a
retired meteorologist with the Air
Force. Mr. Linn was a Vietnam
veteran and a retired Air Force
lieutenant colonel. He was a
member of St. Patrick’s Catholic
Church and a lifetime member of
the Warner Robins VFW.

officiating. Burial with full military
honors took place at Andersonvilie
National Cemetery. Watson-Hunt

Bernice Moseley
Bernice Moseley, 80. of Perry
died March 5. She was born in
Selma Ala., the daughter of the late
Ch;trlcs A. and Alma Hall Crosby
and had resided in Perry for 14
years. She was the widow of
Werdncr W. Moseley. Mrs.
Moseley was a retired medical clerk
at Selma Medical Center.
Survivors: two sons. Malcolm
Moseley of Macon, and Jack B.
Moseley of Selma . Ala., one sister

Walter Hugh "Red"
Pierce
Walter Hugh "Red" Pierce, 67,
died March 6 at a Ureal hospital.
Born in Reynolds to Lonnie Hugh
and Sally Mae Connell Pierce, Mr.
Pierce had resided in Perry for 20
years.
Mr. Pierce retired as a colonel
from the Army after 30 years of
service. He was a member of the
82nd Airborne Division, 18th
Airborne Corps. lie served during
the Korean War and Vietnam War.
He was also manager of Howard
Johnson Inn in Perry and co-owner
of the Golden Palette, also in Perry.
He was a member of the Crowell
United Methodist Church.
Survivors: wife, Wanda
Perkins Pierce; five daughters,
Cathy Chandler of Perry, Susan
Molnar, and Penny Pendler both of
Warner Robins, Christy Bowen of
Lilburn, Karen Kiser of
Lawrenceville: one son Michael
Pierce of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two
sisters, Mary Hancock and Betty
Smith both of Crowell: two
brothers. Paul Pierce of Mcßae and
Tommy Pierce of Warner Robins;
13 grandchildren.
Service*: Will be held at
Crowell United Methodist Church
in Reynolds. Thursday at 1 p.m.
Revs Bill Smith and Edwin Smith
will officiate. Burial with full
military honors will follow at
Andcrsonville National Cemetery in
Anderson viUe.
