City studying sll million operating budget
Authorities hope to
prevent millage,
utility rate increases

Despite plans for less spending
next year, city of Perry officials
are concerned either a millage
increase or utility rate increases
will be necessary.
Predictions developed by city
leaders call for a seven percent
fall in revenues for the financial
year which begins July 1.
City Finance Officer Brenda
King said present budget plans
call for a budget of slightly more
than sll million, down about a
million from the budget which
runs through June 30.
The sll million figure reflects
the absence of about $229,618
that would have to put back into
place if the City decides not to go
the privatization route with
household garbage pick-up.
King said revenue numbers for
this upcoming fiscal year are
down mainly because property
taxes that will not be received
from Northrop.

Sanitation work begins earlier
Ingram Minimal
Due to the heal of the summer months. Perry sanitation work
ers will begin working earlier hours.
Because of this, city residents need to be aware their garbage
pick-up will probably take place about an hour earlier than usual.
The day of pick-up will remain the same, according to Perry
Public Works Director Hugh Sha.p.
The new schedule will begin June 8.
"We do this every year to try to get our workers out of the
heat,” said Sharp.
During the first week of the earlier schedule, workers will dou
ble back and make missed pick-ups, he said.

LEG PAIN?
DISC PROBLEMS?
“DON’T WORRY,
IT WILL GO AWAY.”
You’ve heard that before
...perhap even said it yourself.
It’s easy to ignore the minor ache or pain, just as it’s easy
for your chiropractor to treat the minor ache or pain.
However, let the pain persist and worsen, and the healing
process becomes more difhcu.t. That increasing pain is a
signal that the condition is gradually degenerating into a
severe ailment. If you are experiencing any discomfort now,
get a chiropractic examination before the pain (and the
expense) become severe. To encourage you to check out
those little aches and pains, the
