Cowboy Bloom honored for beautification work in city of Perry

Jell 'Cowboy" Bloom was
honored Oct. 7 by the
Keep Georgia Beautiful
and Keep Perry Beautiful
Programs as Perry's Hometown
Hero.
The "heroes" are individuals
and businesses who take extra
strides to beautify Georgia and
America.
After being surprised by the
presentation of the award he said
"I appreciate it. Each and every
one of you. I couldn't do it with
out you."
Ga. Representative Larry
Walker said of Bloom. "He
always has a smile on his face."
Rhonda Koplm was in atten
dance at a Perry Marketplace dis
play to present Bloom with the
award from Keep America
Beautiful.
Perry Mayor Jim Worrall and
Walker presented Bloom the
award from the Keep Perry
Beautiful organization.
Mayor Pro-Temp James
Moore presented a proclamation
to Rhonda Koplin for the 2()lh
birthday of Keep America
Beautiful.
Head of Public Works Hugh
Sharp said Bloom started with the
City of Perry seven years ago
with the Water and Gas
Department. W'hen an opening
came available with the
Beautification Department
Bloom expressed a desire to try.
"I think that he has found his
niche. He’s a hard worker who is
not afraid to ask when he’s not
sure about something,” Sharpe
said.
According to Sharp the City of
Perrv considers Bloom an asset to
