If Centerville were to build its

not enter a cooperative agreement

be faced with the whole cost of
building, fiimishing and staffing a

The Bison Group had financial
difficulties and foiled to complete a
number of projects they had con
tracts for including the Post Office
in Perry.
In the fall of 1998, after
inquiries from Ga. Rep. Larry
Walker and U.S. Senator Max
Cleland, Postal Service officials said
Ronald Fauconniere of Perry would
be the developer for the new post
office and that designs would soon
be forthcoming.
It turned out, however, that con
tract negotiations were not com
plete at the time of the announce
vehicles and the city providing the
station. However, we’ve been operat

1995, and the Centerville city gov

the cooperative arrangement was to
continue."
Response to firefighters
While the Commissioners voted
lor the plan over the objections of a
number of county firefighters,
Station! emphasized that the objec
tions and concerns of the firefighters
had been heard.
Prior to the vote Stafford made a
presentation explaining the plan,
and also instructed County Fire
Chief Jimmy Williams to develop a
“written comprehensive plan in
coordination with each of the
deputy chiefs addressing every issue
involving personnel, equipment and
existing stations” by June 1,1999.
Stafford added, “We want to'
