Michelle Hart wins annual
Kiwanis talent showcase
She will represent club at division contest

Michelle Hart became a repeat
winner of the Perry Kiwanis Club
Talent Showcase.
Hart, 15, and a sophomore at
Warner Robins High School,
ballet danced to “Belfast.”
The Division A category win
ner, Hart will advance to the
Kiwanis Divisio” Talent
Showcase at Agnes Scott College
March 27.
Last year, Hart and her friend,
Allison Fox, who is now a fresh
man at the University of Georgia,
won the Category A competition
with a ballet duet. The pair won
second place in the division talent
contest at Americus.
Hart was one of some 40 per
forming acts appearing before a
large audience Jan. 22 at the
Perry High School auditorium.
A Kiwanis spokesman said the
youths represented 21 area
schools and two home schools.

Second place in Category A
was Lora Stuckey, a home

“Fountain in the Rain”.
Third place went to pianist
Vivian Siu of Perry High School
playing “Doctor Gradus ad
Parnassum” by Claude Deßussy.
Category B winners included
first place Jessie Smith and
Ashley Wimsatt of Warner
Robins Middle School who sang
Amy Grant’s “El-Shaddai".
Category B is for middle
school-aged students. Category
A is for high school students.
Second place winner Ashley
Lee of Warner Robins Middle
School ballet danced to “On My
Own" from Les Miserables.
Third place went to home
schooled Jeannie Parrish who
jazz danced to “One" from
Chorus Line.
Category C winners were first
place Danny Davis of Perdue
Elementary who danced to “Ease
on Down the Road” from The
Wiz and second place Courtney
Jones of Kings Chapel who tap
danced to “Spice up your Life.”
Third place in Category C, for
elementary school students, went
to Sabriya Humphrey of Quail
Run Elementary who sang
“Colors of the Wind”.

Notice of Public Hearing
The Houston County Board of Health will conduct a public
hearing on March 1, 1999 at 5:00 p.m. at the Houston County
Health Department. The rules to be considered during this
hearing are as follows:
1. Adoption of the Environmental Health Rules for Houston
County Governing Individual and Non-public Water Wells to
include a $10,000.00 Guaranty Bond.
2. Adoption of the Rules of the Department of Human
Resources, Division of Public Health, Chapter 290-5-26, On-
Site Sewage Management Systems to include a $10,000.00
Guaranty Bond.

FORT VALLEY Ann
Walton of Fot Valley has been
named the new executive director
of the American Camellia Society
at Massee Lane Gardens. She
will begin work on Feb. 1, replac
ing Ann Brown, who retired in
October for health reasons.
The announcement followed a
nationwide search, according to
Art Landry, president of the
American Camellia Society.
W.C. Wyatt, president of the
society’s development fund, said
“Mrs. Walton brings a lot of ener
gy and enthusiasm to the job. Her
experience in public relations,
publishing, advertising, fund rais
ing, and community involvement
will be definite assets.”
