The Art Show at the JEATo Feature The
Works of Debra Malschick
The Art Show at
the JEA beginning January
8, 2017, will feature the
works of Debra Malschick.
Debra has lived in Savan
nah and has been a profes
sor at SCAD in the School
of Foundation Studies since
2005. Debra was bom in
Philadelphia where she at
tended the Tyler School of
Art, Temple University. She
received her Master’s of
Fine Arts degree from Cali
fornia State University Long
Beach.
Debra’s paintings
and drawings are in collec
tions internationally. She is
affiliated with Fresh Paint
Art in Los Angeles.
Debra says of her
work, “The forms and pat
terns of nature have continu
ally fascinated me and been
my vehicle for expression.
“Drawing from observation
or using my camera is my
visual note takers. Both sit
uations are tme. Drawing is
the entryway and key to all
of my work. As I work the
inherent geometric stmcture
of natural form is a constant
reminder of how intercon
nected all of life is.”
My pen and ink
drawings record the intri
cacies and changes of form
and are the documentation
of bloom and decay. I work
with the plants in the studio.
The drawings are
layered on both sides of a
Mylar surface. A composi
tion evolves where space
is condensed and line takes
on a life in addition to, and
separate from the form it
describes. Independent lin
ear paths occur intuitively
and add another dimension
to the drawing. There is no
specific plan when the work
is started and I find meaning
as I continue to draw. The
scale enables a viewer to be
come lost in the line work,
as the narrative is lost there
is another dimension to be
seen.”
Debra Malschick’s
artwork will be available
for viewing from January 8
through January 31, 2017 at
the JEA located at 5111 Ab-
ercom Street.. There will be
a reception from 2:00-4:00
pm.
Juicing For Optimal Nutrition An Easy
Way To Get Your Nutritional Needs
For millions of
Americans, a handful of vi
tamin and mineral pills is as
much a part of our morning
fare as a bowl of cereal and
a tall glass of orange juice.
The vitamin indus
try has grown significantly
in the United States, and
millions now find it very
easy to supplement their
daily diet with a little extra
help.
Juices are a mul
tivitamin and mineral sup
plement for individuals who
may not want to take or
who may find it difficult or
a challenge to take pills and
capsules.
Our bodies absorb
the nutrients from juic
es much better than they
do from pills. For the best
benefits, we may find that
drinking a pint to a quart of
mixed vegetable juices each
morning can improve over
all health.
Every part of the
human body, on a cellular
level, needs the nutrients
that are found in vitamins
and minerals. By keeping
some quick and easy veg
etables handy to juice ev
ery morning, we can insure
that our bodies are getting
adequate and sufficient nu
trients from a good healthy
source.
A wide variety of
juicing vegetables serves as
adequate as a multivitamin.
Colorful vegetables rich in
antioxidants, such as: red,
yellow, orange, green and
purple, helps to boost the im
mune system and strengthen
the body on a core level.
Creativity in add
ing items such as: a protein
source, a little spinach for
iron, a dab of honey and va
nilla extract for a sweet taste
can add a little special flavor
to an already burst of mega
goodness for our bodies that
it richly deserves.
Change Your Water... Change Your Life!
Ionizer restruc
tured Kangen Water® can
help you stay hydrated
while working and playing
outside. Dehydration is far
too common, given how
preventable it is. Dehydra
tion occurs when we put out
more water than we take in.
This happens often in the
summer when we are spend
ing more time enjoying out
door activities. With clean,
healthy, great tasting Kan
gen Water® you can enjoy
staying properly hydrated
all summer.
We lose water
through our breath, sweat,
and urine throughout the
day. Sweating is our body’s
natural cooling mechanism
but when we fail to re
place the water lost through
sweating, our body cannot
perform at optimal level.
This is why it is important to
be very attentive to your wa
ter intake levels during these
hot summer months.
By the time you
Ernestine Murray
feel thirsty you may be
already dehydrated. It is
important to be aware of
the early signs of dehydra
tion, such as: headaches,
dry sticky mouth, feeling
lightheaded, producing less
urine or dark urine, lack of
energy or alertness
The best plan is
Pre-Hydration! Dehydra
tion occurs over time so
prevent it altogether by
drinking plenty of good,
clean water throughout the
day. If you know you will be
playing in the sun or exer
cising more than usual, plan
accordingly and bring extra
Kangen Water ®.
Do you hate the
idea of buying bottled water
or drinking tap water from
public fountains? If you
freeze a few reusable wa
ter containers with Kangen
Water ® you’ll be sure to
have nice, cool, refreshing
water by the end of your
day. (Remember not to fill
your bottle too high - water
expands when frozen.) You
could also make your own
ice cubes by mixing Kangen
Water® and fruit juice!
Bringing along
extra bottles prevents un
necessary contaminants or
pollutants, often present in
bottled and tap water, from
entering your body. It is also
a great way to share Kangen
Water® with your friends
and family!
