Mayors’ Christmas
Motorcade Wednesday
Mayors from across southeast Georgia will join
forces in Savannah to provide a brighter holiday for those
in need at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, as part of the 58th
annual Mayors’ Christmas Motorcade.
Mayors from dozens of cities in the region will
gather at the National Guard Armory on Eisenhower Drive,
bringing with them gifts donated by citizens of their com
munities. The mayors will then travel motorcade-style to
Georgia Regional Hospital, where gifts will be delivered to
deserving patients.
The Mayors’ Christmas Motorcade was started in
1958 by the Georgia Municipal Association at the request
of then - Governor Ernest Vandiver as a way of providing
holiday gifts for the patients of Georgia’s mental health
and retardation hospitals. The program is aimed at raising
awareness of the needs of Georgia’s mental hospitals.
There are currently seven regional mental hospi
tals in the state, serving some 3,200 Georgians. Many of
these clients have lived in the hospital facility for much of
their lives and receive little, if any, support from their fam
ilies. Without the Mayors’ Christmas Motorcade, many of
their clients would not receive a gift for the holidays.

tion Office at 651-6410.

The Shift
Shift- to exchange for or replace by another; to change the
place, position,
There is a shift that
occurs in every Christian’s
life as they walk with God.
Tliis shift happens when
you fully submit to God and
allow Him to lead you de
spite your view point. You
can still be flawed and God
shift you, you can still be
sick and God shift you, you
can still be unsure of who
are and God shift you. The
deciding factor of your tran
sition is a humble heart that
is willing to submit to God’s
way. We forget that God did
not call us to be whole upon
His arrival He called us to be
available.
Every shift is dif
ferent, but they all bring us
closer to God. Sometimes
the shift requires we leave
people behind who don’t
mean us any good during
this stage of our lives. That
can include family, friends,
churches, jobs, and chaotic
atmospheres. This does not
always mean you cut people
off, but you do have to be
careful with what you share
and what you allow people
to speak over you. Every
one will not understand and
many will tell you it’s not
God, but you must know for
yourself who has called you.
You must be sure that God
is directing your steps, and
walk confidently in that.
God is building
you into a usable vessel
that will not be swayed by
men’s words but will only
be stirred by God’s alone.
He is calling you to a higher
place in Him and demanding
that you throw your old self
aside. God has chosen you
to lead His people, but in or
der to be equipped you must
be tested and proven. Do not
be fearful of the process, the
secret to succeeding is quite
simple. Trust God through it
all. Notice I didn’t say get
the answer right, fast, give,
or sacrifice, although they
may play a part in your shift,
they are not the key. Truth
is you will mess up, you
will fall short, and you will
miss it, but if you trust God
through it all, if you rely on
his strength, and seek His
face, God will direct your
or direction of
Krystle Kai Pate
path every time.
The shift is not
always about you being el
evated because you did ev
erything right. Sometimes
the shift occurs because
even when you did things
wrong you knew where your
Father was and you never
stopped chasing after Him.
That says something about
your character. It speaks of
your humility. It speaks of
your relationship with God
and your ability to find Him.
God is looking for people
who will give Him the glo
ry, not people who will take
it. God is looking for people
who know at all times they
need a savior, and are grate
ful they have one.
Prayer: God I
thank you for your strength
to stand, the boldness to
move, the courage to fight
when others flee, and the
humility to submit to your
authority. God I pray that
wherever you decide to take
me on this journey I will stay
the course. God I ask you
to protect my heart against
those who might accuse me.
I pray that you would give
me a greater love and com
passion for those who might
speak evil against me. God
I ask that I would show the
same forgiveness that you
continually show me. I pray
that just as the lepers were
healed as they went on their
journey, I will be as well.
God I trust you with my
life and I am grateful that
you trust me. In Jesus name
Amen.

Insight For the Living The
Gift From God is Life
By Evangelist Rachel Thomas
When we hear
of global wanning, fires,
floods, earthquakes, airplane
crashes, etc., we are shocked
at the huge loss of so many
lives. Don’t be shocked, just
think of it as God’s midnight
call.
No, he does not
have to be the one that caus
es these catastrophes. How
ever it can bring to mind
that more could have been
saved! We read in the Bible
about the judgment of So
dom and Gomorrah which
was tenible. Suddenly all
the people were destroyed
by fire and brimstone falling
from heaven.
The midnight call
came before it happened,
but they wouldn’t listen and
they could have been saved.
Lot warned his sons in law
in Genesis 19:14, but to no
avail. They all died. It was
horrific when the flood cov
ered the whole earth in the
day of Noah. It rained forty
days and nights in Genesis
7:11-12.
That was the mid
night call when Noah was
building the Ark and they
laughed at him. But the
floods came and took them
all away except Noah, his
family and the animals.
God chose them
to come into the ark be
cause they feared God and
obeyed God. The people had
the opportunity to be saved
at the span of one hundred
and twenty years as they
watched and laughed. But
Jesus said, “They knew
not.” They let the Lord Him
self close the door of the ark
without even having used it.
We must see “the
signs of Time” now because
it is the Midnight Call. It is
your “Time Now!” Roman
3:10 says, “There is none
righteous, no not one.” But
God in His great love with
which He sent His Only Son
Jesus to bring forth salva
tion when He bled, and died
on the Cross of Calvary for
your sins and mine and not
only die, but He rose from
the dead for our justification
(Romans 4:25).
Now you can ad
here to the Great Midnight
Call and avoid the worst
tragedy ever. For over 2000
years now the Lord God
has caused the Gospel of
Jesus Christ to be preached
throughout the World. The
warning is going out even
to this day. I pray that you
would open your hearts to
Christ now while He is wait
ing at the door of your heart.
He can only come in to give
you Life worth living as you
open the door.
The handle is on
your side of the door. Go
ahead and invite Him in
now. After this last day’s
midnight call the conclu
sion will have been reach.
The events which are taking
place before our very eyes
fulfills so precisely the pro
phetic word that even the
Mama Rachel Thomas
simple cannot fail to see.
WE ARE LIVING IN THE
LAST DAYS NOW!!!
My questions to
you are - have you accept
ed God’s offer of mercy and
have you received Jesus,
who shed His blood for your
sins, as your personal Sav
ior?
Did we reach you
as we walked out into the
streets of Savannah city
wide these past twenty three
years? Are you saved for
eternity? Perhaps you will
say, “No or I don’t know.”
Then the Midnight call has
been made to you and the
greatest tragedy can befall
you. What is that? You will
be eternally lost. Please I
urge you to come to Jesus
this very day.
The Bible says
in Isaiah 55:6 “Seek ye
the Lord while He may be
found. Call upon Him while
He is near.” No matter how
vile the sin, Jesus will for
give you and give you eter
nal salvation for your soul.
He said, “Him that come to
Me, I will in no wise cast out
- (John 6:37).
If you are reading
these lines and know in your
heart that tomorrow is not
promised to you, lay this pa
per down now and go down
on your knees and call on
God through the Lord Jesus
Christ.
Tell Him in Truth
and repentance. “Yes Lord
Jesus, I accept you as my
Savior and redeemer of my
soul.” Then you will avert
the greatest tragedy and
obeyed the Midnight call in
your life. With sincerity in
your heart, you have been
eternally saved. Now you
are to get a Bible and read it
every day. Pray by opening
your heart to God and form
a close relationship with
Him. Attend a Bible teach
ing church where the Pastor
cares for you as mine does.
My pastor is Bishop Willie
Ferrell of the Royal Church
of Christ located on 1902
Roger Street in Hudson Hill.
The phone number is 233-
1224 or call me, Mama Ra
chel Thomas at 234-3107.
You are welcome. God loves
YOU! God Bless! Remem
ber it’s the Midnight Hour!
