Last night the down passenger train
ran off the track at the trestle two miles
from here, over Culpepper creek, Just
as the engine struck tlis embankment at
the end of the trestle the coaches left the
track. Following is a list of those who
were injured’:
Mrs, Wynn, of Culloden, bruised on
left side, severely but not fatally.
The infant child,of Mrs Wyon, bruisdl
on the head but not seriously hurt.

Tom Lowe, Dawson, Ga., gash cut on
the forehead.
There were two extra cars to Ihe train!
as the Atlanta children who are camped at
Mr. Howard’s place, were expected to re¬
turn this morning.

Bov. A. C. Wcllons is evincing oeusid

superintending the work of repairing, and
having a thorough knowledge of carpen¬

There are numbers of people throughout
the state who' arein favor of having es¬
tablished ten colleges, branches of the.
State University, to bo kept up bv the
state, as Mr, Felton’s bill proposes. The
same people would be in iavor of
that sounds big and looks big. Georgia
has plenty of good colleges’at- present, but
her public school system is a loqg distance
behind. The ten-colldge program is like
buyiDg a $250 phaeton to which you have
to wotk alittle blind, three-legged pony.

ing I ever saw. Mora than twenty pieces
of bone came out of her leg, one piecq,being
about the size of the small end of a walk¬
ing cauc, and nearly three inches long.
The hole left by taking these pieces on
was as large as a good sized walnflt. She
was not able to walk a step for eight
months, and was afterwards compelled to

ors said there was no cuve, and advised
amputation of the limb. This I would not
donseat to, bpt put her to taking (S. S. S.)

little selfish interests 'stand between them
and the greatest need of the people.
