Perry Mayor Jim Worrall thanks Donna and Allen Tabor for their lawn work. The
Tabors were recognized for their yard by the Perry Beautification Commission. Also
during a recent meeting, Perry Police Capt. Bill Phelps and Officer Tony Sellars were
recognized by the Georgia Chiefs Association for their military service overseas, and
Administrative Assistant to the City Council Laura Loewen was recognized for her
out and ran into the woods,”
he said.
Phelps called out tracking
dogs from Centerville Police
and the Georgia State Patrol
helicopter came up from
Albany. He said the Houston
County Sheriffs Office
helped cordon off the area.
“We appreciate the assis

Office and Centerville in the
capture of these individu

were really there when we
needed them.”
He praised the Perry
detectives for their thorough
job in getting evidence to

the suspects when he was
captured.
He said there may be addi
tional burglary charges as
the investigation continues.
“We are looking into other
unsolved cases and other
evidence may link them to
the other cases,” he said.
Phelps said the damage to
the business buildings cost
more than what the sus
pects got.
“They didn’t get much - a
couple hundred dollars at
the most,” he said.
He said the suspects
should have stayed home.
“I don’t know why they
came down to Perry - it
seems they could get away
with it if they’d stayed in
Macon,” Phelps said.
