In the future, says Webb,

Barbering 100 is taught

“If you have a problem with
someone, if someone is both
ering you - call the police,
that’s what we’re paid for.”
He encouraged people to
resolve disputes peacefully
and “to call in those of us
trained to do so.”
“You can’t take the law
into your own hands,”
Phelps said. “We’re blessed
these people weren’t injured
in a more serious manner.
I’m happy no one was seri

Sgt. Chris Sutcliff of Perry
Police Department Criminal
Investigations Division is
handling the investigation.
“He did a real good job,”
Phelps said.
Trafficking ecstasy
On Saturday, after mid
night, Perry Police Sgt. Ron
Brainard stopped a car on
the interstate for a tint
violation.
Phelps said
the canine

the car, a

drugs.

There were 700-800 pills,
with an estimated street

“These are the type of
things we do to keep drugs out
of Perry,” Phelps said. “They
may not have been headed
for Perry, but they were going

Middle Georgia Tech is
one of five technical schools
in the state to offer a bar
bering program. Atlanta,
Lagrange, Augusta, Central
Georgia Tech and now
MGTC offer the program.
“We’re hoping to capture
these students who’re com
ing from out of town too,”
said Webb of the new pro
gram. “There is no school
south of Warner Robins that
offers barbering as a pro
gram.”
The school’s cosmetology
program is still in demand
with a full service salon
“lab,” where students are
trained on mannequins and
also practice on each other
and take clients.
