Kroger giving $ 1 million to
schools throughout the Southeast
Special to the Journal
To show its continued
commitment to giving
back to the communities it
serves, Kroger, according to
a release, will contribute $1
million to schools through
out the Southeast.
Through its annual
Earning Plus Learning pro
gram, participants can use
their Kroger Plus Card to
raise funds for the school
of their choice for the 2006-
2007 school year (one school
per household).
Beginning Tuesday, schools
can enroll in the program by
visiting their local Kroger
store, returning the packet
sent to them by Kroger, or
by visiting the website, www.
krogerearningpluslearning.
com, and submitting the
Beautiful places
school application form.
Once enrolled, parents
can link their cards to their
school of choice by pre
senting a letter from their
child’s school, along with
their shopper’s Kroger Plus
Card at their neighborhood
Kroger location.
Each school is identified
through a unique barcode,
and each time shoppers use
their enrolled Kroger Plus
Cards, Kroger will contrib
ute 4 percent of their eligible
purchases to the Earning
Plus Learning fund, which
will be distributed to par
ticipating schools based on
their percentage of total pro
gram contributions.
The program will end June
15, 2007.
