Houston Healthcare honors employees

Houston Healthcare held
its annual employee ser
vice awards dinner Aug.
29 at the Georgia National
Fairgrounds’ Miller-Murphy-
Howard Building in Perry.
During that time, sev
eral hundred award recipi
ents and guests, according
to a release from Houston
Healthcare, enjoyed “A
Night on the Town,” which
included dinner, door prizes
and entertainment provided
by Harold Thomas.
Also during the event,
Dr. Tony Alford, Houston
Healthcare’s Chief Executive
Officer, recognized Gloria
Burnette for her 45 years
of service with the organi
zation. The second-longest
serving employee, Burnette
began work in September
1961 as a nurse. Tuesday,
she was presented with a
certificate of recognition and
a SSOO award.
Also, Houston Healthcare
employees who are rec
ognized a minimum of 75
times throughout the year
by patients and co-work
ers receive Star and Touch
Awards. The Star Award
for 2006 was presented
to Mary Brigmond, a 26-
year employee in Houston
Healthcare’s Behavioral
Health Department. Touch
Awards for 2006 were pre
sented to Amy Clark, Natalie
Malcolm, Tomeka Mareno,
John Saunders and Deloris
Tukes.
In addition to Burnette’s
45-year service award,
Houston Healthcare pre
