Carol Eileen Richards and Harmon “Buddy” Deal are
engaged. They will be married at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 14, on
Seagrove Beach.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Ramsey of Statesboro, and the late William Jack Collins of
Statesboro, and the granddaughter of Loree Sikes Glisson,
the late Jerome Webster Glisson, the late Carl and Bertha
Collins, all of Claxton. She received her B.S. degree in early
childhood education and her masters from Georgia Southern
University. She is employed by the Houston County School
System, and teaches first grade at Lake Joy Elementary
School.
The groom-elect is the owner of Irrigation Deals in
Warner Robins. He is the son of Harmon Jerriel Deal, Sr.
of Savannah and Darlene Mitchell of Warner Robins, the
grandson of Betty Sue McGraw of Macon, Nellie Ruth Deal
and the late Ira William Deal of Savannah.

Harris - Wildes
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Harris of Perry announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Jennifer Brooke Harris, to Jesse
Wayne Wiles of Musella, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wildes
of Knoxville.
The wedding will be on Oct. 14 at Dauset Trails Nature
Center in Jackson.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew Lane Harris Jr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Brown, all of Perry. She is an honor graduate of Perry High
School and of Middle Georgia Technical College with an
associate’s degree of applied technology, majoring in dental
hygiene.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Crawford County High
School, and is employed in his family’s construction busi
ness. He is the grandson of Rose Wildes and the late Lacy
Wildes of Bonaire, and of Mr and Mrs. Andrew Lemon Sr.
of Centerville.
The couple plan a honeymoon cruise to the western
Caribbean, and will make their home in Musella.

The 11th Annual
Pumpkin Patch of Christ
United Methodist Church
returns to Warner Robins
on Oct. 6. CUMC is cel
ebrating 11 years of this
popular community out
reach.
The Patch is an attrac
tion for kids of all ages,
offering face painting, a
beanbag toss, a tic-tac-toe
board, and a maze. Story
time with preschoolers and
elementary age children
is also very popular. Last
year over 900 children vis
ited the patch as part of
pre-school or elementary
groups, as well as hundreds
of families who visit dur
ing the month. The CUMC
Pumpkin Patch offers a
photo opportunity for par
ents. Special photo back
drops are set up around the
patch grounds.
This project is supported
by over 200 church mem
bers who volunteer their
time to make this a fun
outing.
“Our church has always
thought of this as a min
istry,” says Rev. Tommy
Martin. “It is an excellent
outreach into the commu
nity as well as being one
of our biggest fund-raisers
of the year. Our goal is not
simply to sell pumpkins,
but to also offer a warm
friendly place where the
presence and love of Jesus
Christ can be found. It is
