The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce recently held its inaugural Annual Professional Women s Day Luncheon. The
Member Services Committee hosted this event to, according to a release, honor all of the professional women in
the middle Georgia area. Lunch was served at Angelina’s Italian Restaurant and Ronda Rich, a Southern Storyteller
and author, was the speaker. More than 100 women attended the luncheon. For further information about the event,

Ribbon cutting

T/ie Perry Area Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony for
the “Resource Room * This room, according to a release, was funded by a SIO,OOO
grant from One Georgia Authority. The Business Development Committee of the Perry
Chamber was eligible to apply for this grant because, the release reads, Houston
County received the “Entrepreneur Friendly” Designation from the Georgia Department
of Economic Development in 2006. The room, according to the release, is for entrepre
neurs in the middle Georgia area who are interested in starting the own business and
need the hardware and software to help them develop and print their Business and
Marketing Plans. Also available is software if they are interested in starting a Franchise

Business Development Committee was joined by a Perry Dogwood Queen, Mayor Jim
Worrall, Perry Chamber Board members and ambassadors, as well as local businesses

McKenzie, who developed
the firm’s training program
during his nearly 60 years of
