The Perry Farmer’s

without her smile.
As many readers know,
the Journal’s popular food
columnist, Jean Rea of Perry
has been diagnosed with
cancer, and is confined to
her home except for trips to
have chemotherapy.
In addition to being known
for her weekly column and
her cookbooks, she has had a
table at the downtown mar
ket in Perry just about every
Saturday from its begin
nings four years ago, and
has been one of its biggest
boosters in addition to being
one of its best selling ven
dors, with her offerings of
homemade jams and jellies,
preserves, chow-chows and
relishes, baked goods and
cookbooks.
