Bane Or Boom?

Ilardly a day goes by that someone doesn’t make some
critical remark about the “Campus Cops.’’ In fart, if a po
pularity poll were taken, the “Campus Cops” would rate
about three decrees lower than athlete's foot.

important duty Is In the realm
of Public Relations,
Most visitors to the campus
come on weekends when there

"goodwill ambassadors" and
will take time to show the visi
tors around. They will give
them directions, answer ques
tion about the University, If
necessary, and they will recom
mend a good place to eat.
The “Campus Cops” also per
form a variety of aervlcea for
students. They carry cans of
gas In their trucks for students
who have run out; they will
call a mechanic for students
with car trouble; and they will
lake Injured students to the
Infirmary.
“Campus Cops” perform
many other services for the
students; these are Just a few
of the major ones.
Applicants for the force must
be between the ages of 21 and
25, must be high school grad
uates. and must have fulfilled
their military obligation.
