SAVANNAH, Ga.—The days of
the old minstrels were revived on
November 18 when the Holy
Name . Society of Sacred Heard
held an old fashioned minstrel.
Under the direction of R. F.
Smith, the program was as fol

tween Liturgical Music and Cath
olic Action. The Forum concluded
with the group attending Bene
diction and the Rosary in the
Church.

Forum At Macon
MACON, Ga. — On Sunday,
November 7th, the first of a series
of Christian Family Movement
forums was held at St. Joseph’s
Church-under the direction of
CFM chaplain. The purpose of the
forums will be to get a fuller
knowledge and enthusiasm for
our faith, and a greater apprecia
tion of Catholic Action. Lane and
Bette Williams are the chairman-
couple of these forums and they
promise many exciting and inter
esting meetings.
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Sheridan
and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hobson,
having just returned from a re
treat given by the famous au
thority on CFM, Monisignor
Hillenbrand, presented discussions
on two of Mgsr.’s subjects, the
Mass and the Mystical Body.

Hears Reports
AUGUSTA, Ga. — The regu
lar monthly meeting of St.
Mary’s-on-the-Hill Parish Coun
cil of Catholic Women was held
on Tuesday, Nov. 9th at The
Knights of Columbus Home.
Mrs. Edwin Dorr, President,
conducted the meeting. Report,-,
from all chairmen of standing
committees were given.

ident, told of plans for a float
to participate in the Augusta
Merchant’s Christmas parade —
The Knights of Columbus will
cooperate with the Augusta
Deanery Council of Catholic.
Women in this project. Follow
ing the business meeting Miss
Louise Mulherin, chairman of -
Libraries and Literature, gave a
review of Bishop Sheen’s latest
book “The World’s First Love”
which was most appropriate dur
ing this Marian Year. Miss Mul-
herin’s talk was very inspiring
and apprecated by all present.
Members were urged to attend
the War Relief Tea of the Deane
ry to be held at the Sacred Hear t
Hall on Friday, Nov. 19th. Plans
were made for the Dec. meeting
to be held at the K of C Home on
Dec. 14th. At this meeting ban
dages will be made for Our Lady
of Perpetual Help Cancer Home
Cancer Home in Atlanta, after
whcih there will be a social hour
featuring the celebration of
Christmas.

ing that he is now in business for
himself as proprietor of Robert

The new station, which opened
