INVASION !
TO THE WAR!
A “GEORGIA LEGION”
I S BEING ORGANIZED. It is to consist of
four companies of Cavalry, of eighty men
each; of four companies of Light Infantry, to
aet with the Cavalry, as Voltigeurs; of two
companies of Heavy Infantry, and one of Ar
tillery.
The FULTON DRAGOONS have tendered
to form part of this Lotion.
This Legion is expected to go into Ser
vice before the 15th of August,
but the c -no panics to be selected IN A WEEK;
and to be thoroughly drilled befoie going into
service. The Fufton Dragoons want about
fifty able-bodied men, who can furnish good
horses, and a cheap uniform. Gov. Brown
will arm us—the Legion is to be tendered
through him.
Here is offered a fine opportunity of going
into service, in a Regiment of novel organiza
tion, of pieked companies. A distinguished
member of the Confederate Congress, from
Georgia, who gets up this Legion, will doubt
less be appoiuted Colonel; the other field offi
cers—Lieutenant ColoneJ, Major and Adjutant
are to be appointed by the President, from ex
perienced Army officers.
We appeal to tbe patriotism of our citizens,
not only of Fulton, out of other counties, who
feel disposed to join the Fulton Dragoons, to
•end in their names at once to us, or to regis
ter their namee at the store of Lieut. Williams.
We have but one week to raise our number, to
? 'et in this Legion. All who want to go, in-
orm us at once. Will our friends who can’t
go encourage this movement?
B. C. YANCEY, Capt. Fulton Dragoons.
Z A. RICE, First Lieutenant.
WM. M. WILLIAMS, Second Lieut.

CONFEDERATE STATES LOAN!
T HE undersigned, Cornmissionersof the Con
federate States Loan, in and for the State
of Georgia, announce to the public that the
books for the subscription to this Loan are re
opened at the following points, namely: Sa
vannah, Augusta, Macon,Columbus, Miliedge-
viile. Rome, Atlanta, Athens, Washington aud
Albany. Wo will send books. Ao., to other
point*, if requested to do so, and it be deemed
expediont by us.
Fivemillioneonly of the fifteen million Loan
have been called for, and eleven millions have
been responded to—no subscription being at a
lees rate than par. and «4>me as high'at ten per
cent, premium. Tbe present exigencies of our
national crisis call for the balance of this Loan,
and we have no doubt our fellow-citizens will
cheerfully respond to that call. Let it be re
membered that, in what they thus advance,
they are making an investment at 8 per cent,
per annum, (whiob investment is secured by a
special sinking fund.) and that subscriptions
may be made in any sum from fifty dollars up
wards.
We are authorised to say that .these subscrip
tions will be received in this Slate in current
bank uotea which are considered at par at the
several centres of trade.
An abounding patriotism baa carried, and Is
carrying, our brave brothers and sons in suffi
cient numbers to the field ; we doubt not that
the same fervid feeling will support them there,
by rapidly filling the remainder of this Loan.

FOR THE “SOUTHERN CONFEDERACY.”
Richmond, June 28.— It It reported that
the Legislature of Maryland baa paaeed the
Ordinanoe of Secession. This cannot be
vouched for, however, as it ie said tbe Ordi-
naooe was passed in eeeret seeelon.
Ocbam Spbinus, Mies., Juns 28.—There is
a gun boat off Deer Island. They have taken
three sobooners to-day, loaded with railroad

Louisvills, June 28 — A requisition has
been sent to Indiana for four additional regi
ments.
It is believed the Federal Government will
not interfere with the due oourse of law in the
Privateer Savanoah oases.
The oase of the oondemned schooner Trop
ic Wind will probably be appealed to the Uni
ted Stales Court.
Mr. Crittenden will offer his compromise to
Congress on its reassembling, ooupled with the
threat that Kentucky will secede if it is not
adopted.
Gen. Beauregard is evidently preparing to
advance.
Tbe New York Post says ib&t good judges
say no battle will take place for weeks yet.
The Federal Government will soon issue or
ders preventing the Army and Navy from per
forming serviots as slave oatobers.
Andrew Johnson had arrived at Washing
ton. He claims East Tennessee to be ae loy
al to tbe Federal Government as Western
Virginia. He report s 20,000 Southerners at
Fairfax Court House.
New Yobk, June 22.— It ie reported that
the Navy is to be doubled ; and that Congress
will suspend the writ of Habeas Corpus at an
early day of its session.
There is no news from Missouri—the tele
graph being interrupted by a heavy tornado.
Tbe telegraphic lines are down below Augus
ta; consequently we received no further dis
patches last night.
