Goes! matsing, friends and patrons all,
Accept my kindest greeting,
Os this bright, frosty winter morn
Gf our unexpected meeting.
That we ixnltata the Yankees yet,
Is plainest of all case;;
For sometimes we are “superseded,”
And sometimes changing bates.
So I am in again, my friends;
Once more Fm reinstated;
And as before, I hopo my work
Will be appreciated.
When first they thought to.turn me out,
I thought they wouldn’t do it;
For I knew when white folks come to mud,
They’d stick, and net go through it.
But I was put to offici work,
And you thought you’d no more greet me;
But you wanted me to come again,
And I know you’re glad to meet me.
Then every morn TO come to you,
No matter what’s tho weather;
And foteh you all the latest news,
That wo can get together.
I knew, kind friends, this change of bate
Ii suited to yonr notions;
And that you’ll rise early every morning from
your downy beds, and read over the Sootbxxn Csxrrn-
saacx*
f oon after yonr morning derations.
Respectfully years,
JOHN WESLEY.
