late act of the Legislature of
this State, it is provided amongst o
thcr things, that the county of Wilkes
js entitled to two Surveyors, tor the
purpose of running oft the luiul with
in the limits of this State, and with
in the bounds of the Cherokee na
tion of Indians; and it is provided
that said surveyors shall he elected
by the people on the first Monday in
February nexl. In proposing uiy

He is about five feet ten-inches high,
black complexion, by trade a car
penter, and says he belongs to Ro
bert Beal, living on Spirit creek,
Richmond county; that he ranaivaj
in August last, and rode eft’ an old
bay horse, with three white sees,
a bald face, atsd a switch tail, be
longing to Hampton Hudson of said
county,—and that the horse was in
possession of Jesse Bowles of Talia
ferro county when he was apprehen
ded. The owner is required to
come forward, prove property, pay
charges, and take him away, other
wise the law made and ptovided iu
such cases will he pat in force.
