Columbus, July 25th, 1857.
We take pleasure iu staliug that we have been
selliug Mr. A. D. Brown’s Wheat Fan for the lust
two years almost exclusively. We have sold them
to all sections of tbe surrounding country, both
iu Georgia and Alabama, and they Lave given
general satisfaction. We have never beard any
complaint of the first one jet, and believe they
are the heat Fans now in use. We have formerly
shipped Fans from the North for our own trade,
but wo have abandoned them, Mr. Brown's Fan
haviug superseded tlum entirely.
(Signed) J. ENNIS 4 CO.
CtLUMUis, Ga., July 25, 1867.
We have been selling Mr. A. D. Brown’s Faus
during the past season, and lully concur in the
above. (Signed) ESTES Sc BROTHER.

Prof. CHAS. UPHAM SHEPARD, of the South
Carolina Medical College, in a letter addressed to
B. M. Rhodes, the proprietor, dated Charleston,
January 3, 1800, says :
“The two samples examined, as selected by my
self from the warehouse of Messrs. Khett 4 Rob
son, of this city, appear to be. as nearly as possible,
identical iu their mode of preparation and com
position, aud the article cannot be too highly com
mended for the uniformity of the mixture iu the
several ingredients present, aud the impalpable
fineness of tbe Phosphate and the Sulphate of
Lime. It is tho richest preparation I huve yet
seen for the Soluble Phosphate, and in this respect
cannot well be improved upon. The iusoluble
earthly inirredient does not appear to bo greater
than is incident to tho most carefully prepared
fertilizer.”
THE MODE OF APPLICATION IS VERY
SIMPLE : either broadcast or in the hill or drill—
-100 to 200 pounds per acre. This Mannre does not
tire, as is the case with the Pernvian Cuano; but
being strictly nourishing, can he used any way
tho convenience of the planter may suggest.
