PILLS OF IKON.
AN Aperient uudStomachit pie;arationol Iron
purified of Oxygen and Carlton by combustion
in Hydrogen. .Sanctioned by the highest medical
authorities, both in Europe aud the lluited States
and prescribed in their practice.
Tho experience of thousands daily proves that
no preparation of Iron can be compared with it.
Impurities of the blood, depression of vital energy,
pale and otherwise sickly complexions indicate its
necessity in almost every conceivable case.
Inoxious in all maladies in which it has been
tried, it has proved absolutely curative in each of
the following complaints, viz:
In Debility, Nervous Affections, Emaciation,
Dyspepsia, Constipation, Diarrhoea, Dysentery,
Incipient Consumption, Sciofulous Tuberculosis.
Salt Rheum, Mismenstruation, Whites, Chlorosis,
Liver Complaints, Chronic Headaches, Rheuma
tism, Intermittent Fever, Pimples on the Face, Ac.
In cases of General Debility, whether the re
sult of acute disease, or of tho continued diminu
tion of nervous and muscular energy from chronic
complain ts, one trial ol this Restorative lias proved
successful to an exteut which no description nor
written attestation would render credible. Inva
lids so long bed ridden as to have become forgotteu
in their own neighborhood, have suddenly re-ap
peared iu tho busy world as if just returned from
protracted travel in a distant laud. Somo very
signal iustances of this kind are attested of female
sufferers, emaciated victims cf apparent maras
mus, sanguineous exhaustion, critical changes,
aud that complication of nervous aud dyspeptic
aversion to air and exercise, for which the physi
cian has no name.
In Nervous Affections of all kinds, and for
reasons familiar to medical men, the operation of
this preparation of iron must necessarily be salu
tary, for, unlike the old oxides, it is vigorously
tonic, without being exciting and overheating;
and gently, regularly aperient, ev*m in the most
obstinate cases of costiveness, without ever being
a gastric purgative, or inflicting a disagreeable
sensation.
It is this latter property, among others, which
makes it so remarkably effectual aud permanent a
remedy for Piles, upon which it also appears to
exert a distinct and specific action, by dispersing
the local tendency which forms then^
In Dyspepsia, innumerable as are its causes, a
single box of these Chalybeate Pills Ims often
suificed lor tho most habitual cases, including tho
attendant Costiveness.
In unchecked Diarrheea, oven whon advanced
to Dysentery, confirmed, omaciating, and appa
rently malignant, the effects have been equally
decisive aud astonishing.
In the local pains, loss of flesh aud strength,
debilitating cough, and romittenfc hectic, which
generally indicate Incipient Consumption, this
remedy has allayed the alarm of friouds aud phy
biciaus, in several very gratifying and interesting
instances.
In Scrofulous Tuberculosis, this medicatod iron
has had far more than the good effect of tho most
cautiously balanced preparations of iodine with
out any of their well known liabilities.
The attention of females cannot bo too confi
dently invited to this remedy and restorative, iu the
cases peculiarly affecting them.
In Rheumatism, both Chronic and Inflammato
ry—fu the lattor, however, more decidedly—it has
been invariably well reported, both as alleviating
pain and reducing the swellings and stiffuess of
the joints and muscles.
In Intermittent Fevers, it must necessarily bo
a great remedy aud energetic restorative, and its
progress in the new settlements of the West will
probably bo one of high renown and usefulness.
No remedy hits ever been discovered in the
whole history of medicine, which exerts such
prompt, happy, and fully restorative effects. Gi.od
appotite, complete digestion, rapid acquisition of
strength, with an unusual disposition for activo
and cheerful exercise, immediately follow its use.
Put up in neat flat metal boxes containing fifty
pills, price 60 cents per box; for eale by druggists
and dealers. -Will bo sent free to any address on
receipt of the price. All letters, orders, etc.,
should be addressed to

Gents. —Our firm having sold large quantities
of your Inimitabio Hair Restorative, and hearing
it so universally commended by many of our
patrons in tho highest manner as to its ’‘inimita
ble” qualities, I was induced to give it atrial,
having for some years been troubled with falling
of tho hair, dryness of the scalp, as well us the
additional annoyance of many grey heirs—the
Dcalp being apparently diseased. Alter faithful
ly using one small boitle of tho Restorative, and
fiuding its g >od qualities apparent, I commenced
the use of the second and my hair is now in bet
ter condition than ever before during my recol
lection. It has stopped falling out and the scalp
has resumed its functions. I most cheerfully re*
commend your article as having all the virtues
you claim for it. In uthlition to my own case, I
cau point out at leant fifty persons in our city
who havo had the same experience in its use as
myself. You are at liberty to use this letter as
you may see proper, and 1 will be happy to re
commend your article on any and all
occasions. Yours respectfully,

Ticket for the Southern Confeder
acy.
The Waynesboro (Ga.) News suggests
the following ticket for President, Vice
President and Cabinet Officers of the
Southern Confederacy, (that is to be:)
President —F. W. Pickens, of South
Carolina.
Vice President —A. G. Brown, of Mis
sissippi.
Secretary of State —Howell Cobb, of
Georgia. # #
Secretary of Treasury —John Slidell, of
Louisiana.
Secretary of War —Jeff. Davis, of Mis
sissippi.
Secretary of Jfavy. —Gov. Perry, of
Florida. *
Secretary of Interidr —J. L. M. Curry, of
Alabama.
I’ostmaster General, —John E. Ward, of
Georgia.
Attorney General —John S. Preston, of
South Carolina.
Prom Pensacola.
The Pensacola Tribune states that the
number of Florida and Alabama troops
at tbe fortifications is about 1,100. We
extract further, as follows:
There is reason to fear, from the anx
iety of the troops, that an attack will be
made shortly on Fort Pickens; but as
yet, the commander-in-chief desires to
avoid the shedding of blood. It is fear
ed also that Fort PickeDs. will be rein
forced ; if so, dreadful must be tbe fight
and the slaughter. The complement for
this fort is 1,000 men and 260 guns. If
they are landed by a man-o£-war, 60,000
troops can hardly take it.
We can but hope for the best. The
first drop of blood sbed will be the com
mencement of a terrible war. Yet Fort
- Pickets must be given up.
We have so many Alabamians among
us that we almost incline to think we
are in Alabama. That State should de
mand this section at tho termination of
this affair, at any rate.
We can inform the friends and rela
tions of the troops hero that they are
doing well. No Biokness of any conee
qence among them.

Qov Crawford’s Address.
Hon. Geo. W. Crawford, President of ‘
the State Convention, on taking his seat
said :
Gentlemen of the Convention :
In accepting the office juat conferred
upon me, permit me to say, that 1 am
grateful for your kindness, and I shall
bring to tbe performance scarcely more
thfiD tbe good intention of fairness and
fidelity. Makers of your rules, always
subject to review and amendment, it will
be your interest, as doubtless it will bo
your pleasure, in upholding them. More
over, the magnitude of tbe cause ought
to impart calmness in deliberation, for
bearance iu conflicting opiniou, inflexi
bility of purpose, and above all unanimi
ty of uotion. To your sdfe-keeping are
confided one tenth of the leading produc
tive labor of tbe South, and about one
half of the taxable wealth of this State.
Our constituents have declared that it has
been and ia now assailed, without cause
and against good conscience. Tbe me
nace of destruction, like the sword of
Damocles, now hangs over it. They
have required redress among our confed
erates. They are faithless.
They have sought redress from the
Federal Government. It is important.—
They now demand redress even though
it be outside of the sovereignty whioh
bodges us in. Already tbe stirring events
with whioh we ara nearly surrounded
provoke inquiry. On either side his in
terest is our interest, his cause is dur
cause, his danger is our danger, and his
safely is our safety. Ho is our brother,
and that brother’s eye is upon us aud will
“Mark
Our coming and look brighter when we come.”
From Mtlledgevllle.
The Milledgeville correspondent of the
Chronicle and Sentinel Bays:
The crowd at this point is very largo
—every place in tho city is crowded to
overflowing. It is estimated that nearly
2,000 strangers are at tbe Capitol. There
is very little excitoinent as yet; anxiety
is pictured on many faces. I have been
struck with the sedate, calm and dignified
appearaooe of the members of the Con
vention. There are very few young men
in it. Our young friend Brisooe, from
this county, who is perhaps thirty years
old, seems to be about the most youthful
looking member present. Gray heads
and bhliUjeads appear on every side, and
epeotacles are the order of the day.
With suchmon, such advisers and such
a Convention. Georgia cau receive no det
riment. 8o far as can be seen from the
votes to day, the Convent,on is infavor
of secession. Hut “old beads will talc*
wise counsel,” and nothing hasty orpte
ciritato will be dono.
