IN asrnuch as the Drawing of the Uni*,
»n Hotel Property Lottery is not com
pleted, it is due to the Public to have a
plain statement of facts. Good Titles to
prize holders, were not published by the
superintendants, till the Bth day of last
..September, (the time the Lotterry truly
came before the Public) to be drawn the
24th day of December thereafter. It
was then postponed tiH the 2d day of this
month, and from casualties could not be
drawn. The propriotoy in the first lime
given, from the situation of his family,
could not leave Thbmaston to sell Tick
ets till the sth day of Dec. &in the last
nmo from the duties of oljice, could not
loavetill after the 2d Monday in January. ’
Thorefore he has not had time to soli as
many of the Tickets as he wishes. He
will make no apology —but still state fact.
He owes the amount of the Lotterry and
rom the pntsitinn of some of his credition
he ifi compelled to >ake the un
sold Tickets. To the others he retinas
many thanks, and could he bestow cash
as easy as thanks he would have all paid
It is to be hoped that this indulgence will
be allowed by a generous public. He
has placed the drawing when the ’Pickets
are sold, or most certainly the first of
next January. It is the last notice he
shall make, unless he draws before that
time.. The drawing shall be final.
It is due to those who have bought
Tickets to be informed that the money is
m the hands of respectable Agents, and
in the hands of the Treasuier of the So*
periutendants. Who will return it to
purchasers, should the Lottery, by any
unforeseen circumstance, not be drawn.
The Unsold tickets are offered with prido,

AN ACT
To prevent the circulation of Bank Bills
under the ’denomination of Five dol
lars, within this State.
Whereas, the circulation of Bank Bills
of a small denomination, has been produc
tive of fraud and loss to the public, and
has a tendency to .prevent or retard the
General and speedy restoration of "a spe
cie cureeucy.
Be it therefore enacted by the ’Senate
and House of Representatives of the State
of Georgia in general assembly met, and 1
it is hereby enacted by the authority of
■the same, That from and after -the firs':
day of September next, it stall not be law
ful for any Bank or body corporate, in
vested «itb banking privileges, or person
or persous whomsoever, within the limits
of this Slate to issue, emit, pay away, pass
or circulate any bank Bill, Note, Ticket,,
or paper, purporting to be a Bank Note,;
or of the nature, character or nppearanoei
of a Bank Note, or calculated lor circula
tion as a Bank Note, cither of the Banks
of this State or of any other State, of a
less denomination than Five dollars.—
JProvidcd, that nothing herein contained
shall be so construed, as to make it unlaw
ful for any corporation or persoo or per
sons whomsoever, to present for pay ment,
or in any ot'hcr mode, transmit firr redem
rion to any Bank either of this or any o
ther Stale,any Bill or Bills of such Bank
of the denomination aforesaid, remaining
in circulation after the .irne aforesaid, with
the view and in the mode to stop the
future circulation thereof.
Sec. 2. And be it farther enacted by
the authority aforesaid, That any Bank
or Corporate Body, or person or persons
whomsoever, offending against the pro
visions of the first section of this act,
shall forfeit the sum of* One llundrod
Dollars, to be sued for in the name of
the State, by any licensed Attorney, on
the application of any informant cogni
zant of such offence, who sha.ll be a com
petent witness on (be trial, and recover
ed by an action of debt or on the Case,
in any couit of competent jurisdiction in
this State, with full costs, one half where
of when recovered shall be paid to the
use *f the State, and the other half to’
the nse of the informer.
Sec. 3. And bo it forihor enacted.
That each and every issuing, passing,
paying away, or circulating, of each and
eve'ry such Bank Bill or Note, as is spe
cified in the first section of this Act, con
trary to the spirit, true intent, and mean
ing thereof, shall constitute anew, sepa
rate and distinct ofifence, and shall be lia
ble to anew, separate and distinct peoal

TO regulate the weighing of Fodder, flay
and Oatgjn bundles brought to the city of
Augusta in w|pt>ns, or carts for sale by Weight.
Sec. Ist. Be it ordained by the City Counril
of Augusta, That all Fodder, Hay and Oats
brought to this city in wagons or carts for sale,
shall be weighed at the scales prepared for that
purpose near the lower market.
Sec 2d. Be it further ordained, That it shall
be the duty of the clerk of the lower market to
superintend the weighing es all Fodder, Hay and
Oats, at alt hours of the day, from sun rise till
sun set. And tha party selling such Fodder,
Hay or Oats, shall pay to thesUd cleTk fifty cts.

cart or dray.
Sxd. 3d- Be it further ordained, That ©very
person who shall -violate the provisions of this
Ordinance, may be fined in a sum not exceeding
