tance witli impunity, it is utterly impossible that
they can be so at home.

ed no benefit from them. In September 1842,
after having suffered at times tlio most excrucia
ting pains for eight years and nine months, mid
niter having spout n great deal of money (nt least
$500) on doctors during thu time, I was induced
to try Dr. M. S. Thomson, of Macon, mid though
I entertained tho most violent prejudice to his
inodu of nraeliuu, iny necessity compelled mo to
go, for 1 hud then been confined to my house for
ten days, and Imd to resort to thu ttso of the ca
theter throe or four times daily. In this misera
ble plight I left home, went to Dr. Thomson,
stated my caso tu him, uud ho gave me medicine.
In half un hourafier taking his first dose, I felt tliut
ease, and hail thut freo uud copious discharge of
urine which I hud not felt or had in almost nine
years. And lYorn that time to this proseut day,
March 20th, 1847, I have hud no return of my
complaint, and no more use for my catheter. In
order to mako tlio cure permanent I continued
tho use of tlio medicine several months. Since
then I take nothing for it. I ent, drink, sloop,
and work ns in former days, mid feel us well and
sound as evor I was. You limy well suppose that
it did not take long to banish projudico nt that
rato, mid I now say to tho nfllietud, that 1 believe
in many instances that prejudice stands moro in
