Yorlc of, the 4th inst. fays, “ The Delaware deputies, who,
by treaty with Col. Bouquet, were to meet Sir William
Johnson in order to enter into a peace, on behalf of their
nation, are arrived at Johnson-Hall, having been greatly
obftrutted by the deep (now. The Delawares who fled last
winter from the party of Indians sent out by Sir William are
likewise on their way to Johnson-Hall with several prisoners,
so that his Excellency will be fufficicntly employed for fome
time/*
SAVANN AH, April 25.
FROM Charleftown we have advice, that an ail imposing
a ilamp duty in America is palled by the parliament of
Great^Britain.
The Rev. Mr. Frinks, who lately arrived from England,
being appointed reilor of the parilh of St. Paul, we hear the
Rev. Mr. Teal has been invited to St. George’s parilh by
the inhabitants, who have set on foot a fubfeription for the
support of a clergyman amongll them.
* Tuesday last being St. Georg ft’s day, the tutelar faint
of England, the members of the Union Society met at the
houfc of Mr, John Lyon in Savannah, when they made
choice of William Ewen and David Montaigut, Efqrs. to
be stewards, and Meflrs. John Lyon and Benjamin Weddel
constables, for the current year.
A schooner from Jamaica, Alexander Mills mailer, is
put into this port, having negroes on board with the small
pox. His Excellency the Governor has ordered the negroes
|o be put on (hore at a convenient place in Tybee creek, and
the ycITcI to perform a quarantain of ten days, in the mean
time using all prrper means to cleanse it from the infedion.
Saturday lad failed the Spanilh brigt. mentioned in this
paper of the-2 111 February lad to have put in here in didrefs.
Also failed his Majesty’s Ihip Efcorte, Thomas Foley, Esq.
Commander, on a cruize.

A TRACT of SEVEN HUNDRED ACRES ofßr.
VER SWAMP, being part of an island in the parish
of St. Matthew, about 18 mile3 dillant from Savannah,
bounded westerly part by land of the Hon. Clement Mar
tin, Esq. eaderly and southerly near two miles on Abercorn
and Callace creeks, which are both navigable for large
schooners; on the banks of the creeks there is high land fit
for planting corn, rice, or indico, the more inward part
is extremely well docked with cypress, white-oak, and other
valuable timbers, not any exceeding half a mile from the
Creeks.
Also, a CORNER LOT in Savannah, adjoining wedward
to the widow Hamilton’s house, with the FARM LOT to
the said town lot belonging, situate on the eadern road about
five mileididant from Savannah, on which there is good
pine timber.
And also, a CORNER LOT, as well fenced as any in
the town, and a tolerable dwelling-house thereon, opposite
to the tenement wherein Mr. Valk now lives, with theFARM
LOT to the said town lot belonging, lying on the White -
Bluft road, and about two miles from town, whereon is
good pine for sawing.

S'l RA YED or STOLEN off the town common from the
fubferiber, TWO CHAIR HORSES, the one a blood
bay, black mane and tail, about 14 hands high, with a
speck on the ball of his left eye, has several saddle spots and
different brands; the other a forel, with a white blaze in his
face, and a white mark on his buttock like an O, and no
brand. Whoever fecurcs the said horses, and delivers them
to meat Savannah, or James Jackson, Esq. at Auguda, fhali

that, by diredlion of the Right Honourable the Lords
Commiflioners for Trade and Plantations, the price usually
paid for cocoons is now reduced, and that no more than two’
shillings and threepence pur pound will be paid for cocoons
raised in this province, and delivered in at the publick fila
ture this season.

A TRACT of FIVE HUNDRED ACRES of LAND,
on the south point of Little Ogechee, about 14 mile*
from town, to which there is a good cart road, bounding
weft and north on Richard Cooper; 300 acres is good corn
and indico land, and the rest good rice land, the whole in
ferior to none in the province. There is the bed mulberry
orchard in the province on this traft, 401. a year having been
made from it for fome years in cocoons, and it has twohou
fes and frames fit for that purpose; there is also a good orange
grove of bearing trees upon it. A vefTel of 200 tons may

R’llto AWAY from the fubferiber last February, a NE
GROEMAN, named York, about 40 years of age,
about 5 feet 4 inches high, had on when he went off a blue
negroe cloth jacket and breeches, fpcaks good Englilh, and
is well known*about Ebenezer and Abercorn. And last Sun
day went off, TWO NEGROES, one named Pompev,
about 46 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches high, he is dull
of hearing, and is a good axman and hunter; the other,
named Sampson, is by trade a carpenter, aged 26 years,
has a downcall surly look, and is about 5 feet 8 inches high ;
they were both born in North-Carolina; had on when they
went away hats, blue jackets and breeches, and white Indian
boots.—Whoever delivers the above negroes, before the last
of May next, to the warden of the workhouse in Savannah,
or to me at Skidaway, fhali receive for York ics. sterling,
and 20s. for each of the others, over and above what the
