Majesty a sum of money to defray the expences of govern
ment, the following tax is to be levied, namely,
Two Jhillings andfixptnet for every hundred acres of land;
Seven fallings and Jtxpence on every hundred pounds value
in town Tots;
Five fallings on every hundred pounds value of buildings
and improvements on town *ots;
Two fallings andfixpenee for every negroe and other (lave;
Fifteen fallings on every free negroe, mulatto, or muftee,
above the age of fixtecn years;
Seven fallings and fixpenee on every hundred pounds dock
in trade;
Twelve fallings for every hundred pounds let at interest;
Pursuant to which ad, we whose names are hereunto affixed,
collectors appointed for the parish of Christ-church, do here
by give notice to all persons possessed of lands, (laves, and
monies at interest, or (lock in trade, as well proprietors as
trustees or attornies for absentees, that are liable to pay tax
by virtue of the (aid-aft, within the pariffi aforefeid, to de
liver in a particular account in writing, either to Sir Pa
trick Houftoun at his house in Savannah, or to Philip Dele
gal, Esq. at the house of Joseph Ottolenghe, Esq. or to
Mr. Joseph Clay at his house in Savannah 1 , on or before the
firft Tuesday in May next, and that they will attend to re
ceive the fame as aforefaid every Thursday and Saturday
from the hours of ten to twelve in the forenoon, and frofti
three to five in the afternoon. And we do hereby give this
further notice, that all defaulters will, without further no
tice, be prosecuted as the law direfts
