Tho usual quiet town of Iowa Falls,
Iowa, hss been greatly excited by the
discovery of a gang of juvenile thieves,
lads belonging to good families. . From
the local paper wo glean the particulars :
About ten boys wore implicated in all,
and they had their signals, plans and
machinery all oompleto for canying on
the business. It is lueky for all of thorn
that they were thus suddenly brought up
against tho stopping place, else a far
worse fate would probably have ovetaken
them. Tho testimony of each hoy
ohorgod was taken down separately snu
alone, aud his voluntary confession giv
en, and by comparing all the notes it is
evident tho whole truth has como out.
All tho parents, with one exception,
chose A. A. Wells as tho judge to pro
nounce the sentence, and ho reported a
ifOfiw of punishmeut to which, with the
above exception, they agreed, tho sub-
stanoe of which is as follows :
1. Each boy remains at home ten days
at work. . .
2. Not allowed to oongregate together
or associate with other boys sway from
home for —months
3. Each one must have a pass from
his parents, and if fonnd lounging around
or away from homo without tho pass to
be locked up by the marshal twelve hours
for the first offense, and doubling up for
each succeeding offense. Diot to be
