of work, from tho finest dressmaking to
tho heaviest tailoring. I quilted a full-size
white bed-spread with It, which has been
exhibited three times at tho fair. It took
me three weeks to do it with my other
work; but It could not have been done by
hand In as many years. I have oven stitch
ed leather with it, nnd at tho tlmo I ex
changed It (On 1885) for No. 103,880, it
worked just ns well as when made.
It Is, perhaps, unnecessary for me to ndd
that I beliovu tho Wheeler & Wilson to
be vnstly superior to any othor machlno

Diamond Cut Diamond. A
A jewel of a laddie, who enjoys the
fiomewhat romantic sobriquet of Alonzo,
was arrested Monday evening, in this citj\
at the instance of the Southern Express
Agent, for stealing four diamond rings, of
the valuation of about fifteen hundred dol
lars, from the Express Car. Alonzo was
a negro employee of the Company. The
most valuable of tho rings, worth about
seven hundred and fifty dollars, was vari
ously sold at oue, three, five and fifty dol
lars before its real value was discovered.
It has all beou recovered. Tho thief is
quietly enjoying the hospitalities of Mar
shal Jolly’s cottage of tellcction, wlthflvo
extra chains magnificently displayed about
his precious carcass, in token of his over-
fondness for jewelry.
