At an early hour the melody of sacred

der, deep and solemn it rose and fell ns
tbe vast crowd assembled, succeeded by n
holy hush as many converts advanced and
took their places aronnd the pulpit, and
precious little children were presented, to
receive the rite of baptism. Then fol

Bev. Mr. Buttolph, of Marietta. Sweetly
and soothingly fell those heaven-inspired
words, breathing ns it were a “peace bo
still” to tbe listening, waiting hearts—
hearts, weary and world-worn, waiting to
hold communion with God over the sac
ramental table. For the first time this
holy ordinance was administered In the
ncwarnl beautiful temple, erected through
the njercy of the Heavenly Father, upon
the self-same spot where tho old one was
destroyed by sacriligcous hands.
Many dear ohrlstlan friends communed
together upon this Interesting occasion
who, perchance, may never meet again
on earth—certainly never more will the
same friends meet under the same pecu
liar circumstances.
The afternoon services and exercises
were equally impressive. After a practi

•'recording to an article, which we find

Dunning’s “say so," aud we know Dun

says Bard writes letters on tho margin of

we cannot believe a man of Bard’s cloth,
