As the above official count shows,
the candidates for mayor and coun
cilmen, announced in last week’s
Advertiser, were nominated, al¬
though Wilder got in over Hardin
by just one vote.
It is the first political defeat that
Judge Newton has ever met.
Col. Bloodworth and the Com¬
mitteemen received ail the votes
but two which were thrown out.

Forsyth’s Oldest Citizen.
On next Sunday, Nov. 18th,
1910, will occur the birthday of
Forsyth’s oldest eitizen-D. N. Gib
son.
Away back yonder when the In- j
diaus camped in and around For-:
syth, before the county was even
laid out,“Uncle Dan” was born.
He is older than either this
town or county.
Next Sunday, he will be ninety
one years of age. No doubt, his
friends and acquaintances, who
have known him all their lives,
will see to it that Sunday is a
happy day for the old man.
His friends in Monroe county
and all over Georgia and through
out the United States, once citi¬
zens of Forsyth, will be glad to
read in their this week’s Advertiser
