Pilot of this port, and was one of those revolu
tionary characters who aided in the glorious
struggles of our now free and hapey govern
ment. He was a man who possessed * free and

and a soldier. He was a native of South Caro
lina, but at an early period of his life came into
this state, and has since resided here He has
left a disconsolate widow and four children to
