WEDNESDAY.
Savanna, July 8.—The antic),
paled drop In the prlr.o of spirits;
turpentine came this week. Tile
accumulations through Sunday and
through a legal holiday on Tuesday
were too much for tho market to
maintain its healthy tone of
part several weeks and there wt
considerable break on Monday, fol
lowed by another slight break on
Wednesday. It Is not believed the
bottom has bcon entirely roached
yet.
That spirits will sell for 50 cents
or eve a little below that figure
the next week Is believed by some
of thoBe who are watching the game
carefully from this port. Every-
tends- toward a lower prloe. Tho
stocks of both Bplrlts and rosin are
very hoavy Just now and the re
ceipts are unusually so. The re
ceipts for June compared to last
year at the same time were exces
sive and there Is every Indication
that July is going to be the »ame
way. The exceedingly warm weath
er combined with the many dear
days of the spring and summer has
been a great factor In making tho
crop run and the producer has been
in a burry to get his supplies to
market
The result has been very heavy
receipts at all porta and particular
ly at Savannah. Tho statistics show
that tbe receipts here and the ac
cumulated stocks have been as
heavy an ever In the history of the
trade at thla time. The American

tendency to force the price down.

firat advent of tho "octopue" Into
the Savannah market for a long
time—possibly the first time since
the new season began.
Rosins are also being hammered
a little and are losing some on the
uuotatlona. The rosin receipts,
like those of spirits, wore very hoavy
and there baa been no surprise oc
casioned by the drop In prices.
There, la no Immediate alga of

receipts hold up like they have boon
recently there can be no Increase
In prices for cither spirits or rosins.

NAVE SOME RALLIES
Dublin, July 8.—The ceremony of
the entry of King George and Queen
Mary Into Dublin today wag the
counterpart of a sixteenth century
play. Shortly before the arrival
of tbe royal party at the city limits
the pursuivant-at-arms, wearing a
gorgeous cape of royal heraldry, gal
loped up to a gate which had been
especially constructed across the
roadway and asked permission of the
lord mayor for the entrance of the
royal party. Gravely and In word
ed terms of courtesy the lord mayor
granted the request. Back galloped
pursuivant-at-arms, the gate
closing behind him.
The arrival of their Majesties In
Dublin was made the occasion for a
general holiday. Flags and bunting
and mottoes worded in terms of
loyalty were displayed in all quar
ters of the city, but especially pro
fuse and magnificent were the de
corations displayed along the route these rallies will be held are as fol*

grower loses nothing because of the
“tare” in a bale of cotton shipped

the first buyer and that after It is
exported the question of tare Is one
between the exporter and the for
