Raccoon trestle immediately over
the creek, discovered soar* of the
force approaching with a car of
the materia! used in finishing up
tho trestle, and believing that the
space was too narrow for tho car
to pass him without knocking
him off, shouted to them to stop,
but too late it seems, and anon it
came down on him, and over into
the deep abyss he went ninety-
four feet as clear as air, falling
face downward right into the run
of the creek. Mr. Henry Bras

the first to reach him asked him
if he was hurt. Alter the first

. It is supposed that the swift
rauing current which was about
a foot and a half deep, broke the
fall and thereby saved his -life.
Mr. Blackburn fell within n

unfortunate negro brakeman

water gins, one Igriit mill, a post-
office and one small school.
