ous proprietors to an entertainment
as delightful os it was generous. The
number of guests present was some-
whst smsller than we had expected,
thcro having been so many invitations
issue), but still, sufficient for nil prac
tical purposes. Professor Baumgart
ner and members of his bund were ou
hand serving out each in turn waltz,
cotillion, galop, scbottiselic, etc.,
whilst tho young folks with nimble
feet, "tripped tho light fantaatic" to
the soul-inspiring straths. As the
hours wore on, tho sound of music and
dancing was hashed, and the assem
bled guests invited to partake of a
feast fit for kings, and right royally
did they accept There were no bush-
FAIR NOTES,
There aro about twenty-fivo bauds
and a number of teams nowomployed
on the Fair Grounds, fitting it up for
the approaching season.
A new attraction at the Fair will be
a base ball contest on the grounds.—
Our young men are organizing a stur
dy nine and in due time will issue
their chsllenge.
There never has been greater en
thusiasm manifested than there is in
the approaching Fair. Exhibitors, do
yonr best for there is going to be ■
crowd here, certain.
The Wayne County Agricultural
Society meets next Saturday to dis
cuss the Brunswick Fair and other
matters. Come on gentlemen, and
bring your exhibits.
