The designation of Certified
Counselor (CIC) has been con
ferred upon David G.B.
Spalinger, Commercial Agent of
Stewart Short Insurance Services,
following his successful comple
tion of a rigorous insurance edu
cation program sponsored by the
Society of Certified Insurance
Counselors. The announcement
was made by Dr. William T. Hold,
Society President, who conferred
the designation on Mr. Spalinger
in official ceremonies conducted
recently in Atlanta.

temporary restraining order. This road
has been abandoned by the county for
almost 40 years. This is known by the
people who live in the area.

Registered voters in Leesburg
will go the polls Tuesday, No
vember 6. 2001. The 1098 regis
tered Leesburg voters will decide
on a council member for Post 3.
The late lessie Henderson served
as the councilman for Post 3.
The two candidates for Post 3
are Richard Bush and Carolyn J.
Waters. Leesburg voters will also
decide if the City of Leesburg will
exempt the value of inventory of
goods in the process of manufac
ture from ad valorem taxation as
well as the inventory of finished
goods held by the original manu
facture or producer of the goods
and the inventory of finished
goods which are destined for
shipment out of the state.

The flu vaccine is available at
the Lee County Health Depart
ment. The Lee County Health
Department is open from 9:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays and
from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tues
day through Friday.
The cost for the flu vaccine is
$15. Medicare will pay the cost
for medicare eligible people.
Businesses with ten or more
employees can schedule to have
the flu shots administered on site.
People who fall into one of the
following categories may want to
consider getting the flu vaccine:
all adults over 65 years of age,
clients in high-risk clinics: sickle
cell. SHAPP/DM, CMS. the
chronically ill in age groups six
months of age and 50 - 64 year
old group, anyone whose immune
systems are weakened, pregnant
women: especially in second and
third trimester, travelers, some

Tennis Camp Saturday,
November 3
The Fall 2001 Tennis Camp will be held Saturday, November 3
at the tennis courts at Lee County Middle School. The camp will
be from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
The camp is designed for boys and girls in the third through
eight grade and the registration fee is $20.00 which includes a t-
shirt and snacks. LCHS Tennis Boosters are sponsoring the camp.
