Council met in regular session,
Mayor Hopkins presiding.
Aldermen Wright, Hayes, Merrill,
Mitchell, Patten and Wise present.
Minutes last meeting read and con
firmed.
Aid. Mitchell of the water commit
tee, reported that the water main pe
titioned for on Jefferson street, would
cost 8394.75, and the pipe to Mrs.
Pittman’s would cost 838.66, and he
recommended that the work be done.
On motion, the pipe was ordered
placed in Madison street instead of
Jefferson street.
On motion of Aid. Mitchell the
water tariff 1 was chaoged to read 829
for Bakery with Soda Fountain.
On motion of Aid. Merrill the
matter of imposing a fine for furnish
ing water to people who might have
connections was postponed for action
to next meeting.
Application of Piney Woods Hotel
for hydrant on Dawson street was re
ferred to water committee for report
at next meeting.
