He is looking after a great deal of
work which bears directly upon the
sanitary coadition of the town. Ilis
position is a very responsible one, and
be should have all necessary help and
support.
We hope that the appeal, elsewhere,
for assistance in equipping a brass
band, will bo met with a liberal re
sponse. Thoraasville ought to have a
good brass band. This band is com
posed of the most reliable and steady
young colored men in the town. It
will cost them a good deal to get their
instruments, uniforms, and to pay for
tuition, ifcc., and we hope their white
friends will give them substantial en
couragement. They deserve it. Help
the buys all you can.

Bold Burglars.
Mr. Williams Dixon, of I’accville,
whose house wns burglarized Monday
night, was in the city yesterday. From
particulars gathered from Mr. Dixon,
it appears that the burglary was one of
the boldest ever perpetrated in this
section. The robbers went into every
room in the house, upstairs and down,
and took whatever struck their fancy,
silverware, clothing, Ac. None of
the family heard the burglars, which
is, perhaps, fortunate, for it is almost
certain that the intruders were pre
pared to do murder, if they had been
discovered. When the burglars left
tney placed a club nt the door of each
room they bail entered as a souvenir
of their visit. The robbers are still
at large.

How I Was Cured of So-Called Cancer.
Dear Sir—This is to certify that I was
suffering with a place on my underlip for
fourteen years, and was under treatment of
different physicians, but they done me no
good. I hail lost hope of being cured by
medical treatment. I then went to a doctor
living in Florida, who treated them by art.
After going to him it got well, apparently,
for a while, hut returned ns bad as ever. I
then concluded to try I*. 1*. I*. (Prickly Ash,
Poke Boot and Potassium), and after taking
five bottles (piutsize) was cured. I nlso find
it to lie a good medicine to give a good up-
petitc and to give proper digestion.
Yours truly.
