The Constitution says:
It is said that the bonds for building
the first section of the Augusta and
West Florida railroad have been
placed iu New Vork city through
James U. Jaakson, of Augusta. The
road is projected to extend from

The latest preposition, and we are
not surprised at it, is to pension every
loyal citizen of the north, who hurrah
ed for the flag, whether he went into
service or not, It is argued, and with
same show of reason, too, that many
who stayed at home, actually helped
the unipty cause more lhan many who
went into service. This is very likely.
O, yes, they will pension them all in

friendly legislation, need it against the
combines, trusts and monopolies
which have ground them into dust, it
is now, very generally agreed that the
sub-treasury plan will not work, and
that other and more practical methods
of relief should be adopted. Few men,
unless it be a man like Livingston,
with everything to gain and nothing
to lose, would now openly and public
ly advocate the sub treasury plan. It
is a delusion and a tnare. It would
ruin the very men who expect to be
benefilted. A man who would try to

misleading throughout, which is a
blind, deserves a crushing defeat.
Charley Mebatie Married.
We find the following in the New
Albany (Indiana) Ledger:
“The marriage of Mr. Charles S.
Mebane, of the engineer’s department
of the Air Line, this city, and Miss
Jessie Bower, of Jeffersonville, occur
red on the evening of the 19th at the
residence of the bride’s parents at
Jeffersonville. Mr, Mebane has hosts
of friends in New Albany who tender
him through the Ledger their congratu
lations upon this auspicious event
his life. The bride is a highly accom
plished lady and will prove an acces
sion to the social circles of the city
They will reside on West Market
street.”
And from the south'and, where til
groom or.ee lived, and where friends
still live, will be wafted westward,
the first southern breeze, the hearty
congratulations of Charley’s boyhood’s
friends. For him and his fair western
bride, may the future have in store
long years ol wedded bliss, prosperity
and happiness.
