Sixteen Trans-continental Passenger
Trains Daily.
Under the new train schedule which the
.Northern Pacific Railroad inaugurates June
15th, 18;to, there will sixteen traias-eontinental
passenger trains moving tlally on thl^ great
line, eight east Ixurnd and eight west bound,
exclusive of 108 local, main and brack line pas
senger trains running daily west of M. Tar',
Ashland and Jhiluth in Wisconsin, Minnesota,
North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Oregon ami
Washington on its 3800 miles of track.

line ut St. Paul, announces that under the now
arrangement the first through train, the pacific
Kxprecs, leaves *t. Paul at 8:15 a, m daily, with
a through Pullman Palace sleeping car, 'leaving
Chicago daily at 5:30 p. m. via the Chicago,
Milwaukee & st. Paul Railway, running via Hel
ena and Tacoma direct to Portland, ami making
close connection nt st. Paul with nil trains leav
ing st. Louis in the forenoon and Chicago in the
afternoon of the previous day, arriving at Taco
ma 10:50 a. m. of tho third day and Portland the
same afternoon.
The second through train, No. l, the Pacific
Mail, leaving St. Paul at 4:15 p. in., daily, mak
ing close connections with the Fast Mall,” ami
all night trains out or Chicago, will carry a
through Pullman Palace Sleeping Car and one
or more Pullman Tourist Sleeping Cars lea'ing
Chicago at 10:45 p. in. daily via tho Wisconsin
Central line, running through to Portland via
Helena anil Tacoma. Both trains out of st.
Paul will carry Pullman Touriat Sleeping Cars
and Dining Capt, lmt frpe colonist Sleepers
will lie run only on train No. 1, leaving st. Paul
at4:15p. in.
The Northern Pacific now operates the largest
equipment of dining cars of anv railroad in the
world, twenty-four, and also the longest Pull,
man sleeping car line in existence, namcly:Chi-
eago to I ortland via Tacoma, and is the only
line running thcs« sleepers to the principal
trade cent vs and pleasure resorts in Northern
Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana and Wash
ington.
