Chances of tho Forco Bill.
Washington, Dec. 26. —With cus
tomary caution Senator Gorman, the
loader of tho democrats in the flight
on the forte hill, lias never admitted
that the force bill was dead or even
badly wounded, but, on the contrary,
has maintained that the democrats
must light it unless tho republicans
buried it. Other democratic senators
share his feelings about it. For ex
ample, to-day-Senator Pugh predicted
that the force bill would be passed in
both houses before congress adjourns.
As yet there is no indication of that
harmony among tho republican sena
tors which is necessary in order to
bring tins about.
