Baby Mine B <ery mother feels t git,-.it dread of tiie pain ard danger attendant upon the most critical period of her life. Becoming _ mother should be a source of joy to all, but the suffering and danger incident to the ordeal makes its anticipation one of misery. : only made painless, by its use. Those who use this remedy are no longer despondent or gloomy; nervousness, nausea and other distressing conditions are r-ercome, the lystem is made ready for the coining event, and the serious accidents so common to the critical hour are obviated by the use of Mother's UAffhAlhVl Friend. “It is worth its weight in gold,” ssys many who have used it. $1.00 per bottle at drug stores. Book containing, valuable information of interest to all women, will be seat to any address free upon application to ftBABflELO RtOMATOa QQt <(l—» Big Majority for Uaht Preposition. Bonds cack Only a Few Votes-Hard Work at Polls- Litigation Probable Tlwrwlay saw oue of the meat inter- rating elections even held in Thomas* ville. The people voted on tin* qaea lions of incurring a debt of $3.Y000 for the purpose of proonring a municipal electric light plant, and of issuing bonds to the amount of #25.000 to sewer certain portions < t the town. The vote result ed as follows: $ For incurring debt 412 Against incurring debt For Bonds 299 Against Bonds 155 Tlie foature of the day was the hard And successful work done by the idvo cates of nmfticipal ownership. Those favoring the proposition were on hand early and worked busily all day. They were enabled to get out a big vote as 483 persons have their names recorded as i aving voted. Of these only 08 op posed municipal ownership. A dozen hacks brought voters to the po’ls, mark ed ballots were prepared and istrilmied. Literature had been mailed to every voter on the night preceding the elec tion. Checkers kept a careful record of all who voted. It was porhai« the (rest organized and best carried out cam paign ever seen in Tbomas ille, and the workers for municipal ownership have every reason to congratulate them selves. The adherents cf bonds were but little less active, but for several reasons ns given bv them, they were less me- ceshful. If n two-thirds of all votes cost means victory, tho sewer lost by only fonr votes, as that number taken from the anti and added to the pro side would have given the required majority. There will doubtless begin an interesting legal fight that promises to end only in the supreme court. This may be averted by an amicable agree* mont of purchase between tne city and the Thomasville Electrio Light Com pany, but if. the arrangement is not made the light company will probably contest the election on difference of in terpretation of the law governing sucl elections. According to the opinion of City At torney W. C. Snodgrass, all who were Milling to take the regulation oath, were allowed to vote, whether regis tered for the next previous election or not. Ninety-two voters not on the list availed themselves of this opportunity. There is a question as to whether there unregistered votes are legal. There is also a question os to whether two-thirds of the vote cast or two-thirds of the tog istration for tLe preceding election, constitute a requisite majority. If the 92 unregistered votes are illegal, and if two-third of tho registration is required, the light proposition may yet lose. The last registration was 529. Two-thirds of this is 853. Now if a sufficient num ber of the 412 votes should be thrown out to make that number less than 353, the proposition might .lose. The out come will be watched with interest, but outhefocB of the returns municipal ownership won a big victory and the town will own its light plant. SENSATIONAL KIDNAPPING EXCITES 8AIN8RIPGE.
