The movement has already made re
markable headway and gathers mo
mentum daily. Two of the prominent
ly mentioned candidates for governor
have declared themselves tor the
platform of the Interdenominational
C^/ninittee and it is said all the
others mentioned m connection with
gubernatorial honors are about to
f ill into line with this poweiful al
lianee. These two great denomina
tions nave a membership in the state
of 325,ODD, and a voting strength of
61UU0 which they propose to cast
for candidate of their choosing.
Nothing of like magnitude has ever
been attemped before in the state by
these two powerful churc'ies in con
certed organization for fighting the
liquor truffle and the politicians from
all parts are falling before their de
mands.
It is clearly evident that the state
is to experience in the next state
campaign tiic most exciting fight
for temperance, in some form, in her
history, while no other denomina
tions are formally allied with the
