Mr Jas. Butler and Miss Ethel
Harrison were quietly married on
Wednesday the 20tli iust- The groom
is a prosperous young man of Gads,
den county Fla, while the bride is a
popular young lady of the neighbor
hood of Whigham in the Eastern
portion of the county.
It will be a pleasant surprise to
the friends of Mr. S. M. Gibson of
Iio i City and Miss Clyde Smith of
Steam Mill, to learn of their ap
proaching marriage on December 4th.
Mr. Gibson is a prominent turpentine
man and Miss Smith is one of the
very popular young ladies of the
county.
Last Monday night while the ani
mal trainer at one of the midway
shows was having a lion and a bear
tojperform an act together the lion
suddenly became vicious and pounc
ed upon the bear and killed him.
Several shots were fired in an effort
to frighten the lion in to submission
but bifore the trainer could get him
under control it was too late,

last Mr. J. G. Maxwell. The remains
were buried the following. Deceased
was in his 95th year and had been
for more than a score of years a con-
sistant member of the Peidmonl
Primitive Baptist clihrch. He was
the father of Mrs. W. A. Carr and
Messrs J. W. and J. II. Maxwell and
Mrs. M. E. Rawls of Calvary, and
Mr. D. L. Maxwell of Concord Fla.

home of Miss Lill Fleming last
