and he had to suspend operation ter

Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Trulock visited
relatives in Cairo Sunday and atten
ded the funeral of their brother-in
law Mr. Maxwell.
Mrs. W. C Wallace of Attapul-
gus passed through here Saturday
on her way to Cairo, where she had
been summoned to the death bed of
her father Mr. Joe Maxwell.

There will be a Sabbath School In
stitute iu the Presbyterian church at
Climax, Ga., on Friday Dec. 4th.
The exercises to embrace morning,
afternoon and night and will begin
at 10:30 a. m. continue ’till 12 m.
The afternoon services from 2 to
4 o’clock then take recess ’till 7:30
p. m. The following programme
will be observed.

The Ladies Aid Society did not
have their oyster supper at the Her
bert House, as announced tor Tues
day evening of this week. They
will defer it ’till a later time.
Our farmers are all starting syrup
making, and they will be very busy
for the next few weeks. The yield
in this vicinity as in others of our
knowledge promises to be small,
Rov. Jno. Swain preached his
farewell sermon at the Methodist
church Sunday night to a good con
gregation. He left Monday for an
nual confeience. There has been
considerable speculation concerning
his return, and while bis congrega
tion has voted him their unanimous
endorsement, yet it is impossiblr to
tell just what the conference wilt do
