The United States circuit court of
appeals at St. Paul has handed down
an opinion in the suit for treble dam
ages brought by Joseph P. Whitwell,
a local tobacco dealer, against the
Continental Tobacco Company, known
as the tobacco trust, in which judg
ment is rendered in favor of the con
tinental company.
Tire suit was based on the refusal
of the ompany to soil it 3 goods to
Whitwell.

the Fulton county grand jury, at At
lanta, Ga., into alleged irregularities
of the money lending business, nine
true bills were returned Wednesday
by the grand jury against three bail
iffs and two money lenders.
