then have to move out to the railroad, or
better still, build a branch to tap it at New

Last Friday and Saturday wore so cold
that it reminded us of an anecdote wo heard
many years ago of a missionary who was
sent to Lapland. He preached a year to
them, and gave them n fervid description
of that hot place that we must not mention
in a newspaper, Him the yaller rascals
would set and grin with pleasure at the
thought of a warm climate. The preacher
took the hint and threatened them with n
colder climate than even that of Lapland
itself. That ♦‘•'ought them to tends, and
lie soon established a large church.
Nothing can he fairer than Mr. Daniel I.
Beatty's mode of doing business, which
evinces his confidence in the superiority of
his instruments over all others. He war
rants his Pianos and Organs for six years,
gives from five to fifteen day's test trial,
and refunds money if the purchaser is not
satisfied. Bv this means his instruments
are brought into competition with others,
and invariably come out victorious. Ad
dress all communications to Daniel F.
Beatty, Washington, Warren County, New
Jersey. Sec his advertisement. (<5-!H)

It is no longer a thing of the imagination,
hut an established fact, that our neighbor
ing city. Athens, has reached the front rank
in the purchase and sale of Furniture, and
that the Athens Furniture Manufacturing
Company has reached the point from which
it can probably defy competition in this
line. This strong Company carries a stock
equal to any found in the larger cities
South, and is determined, if low prices and
variety of stock will do it, to hold the
trade of Northeast Georgia.
