that part of the Comptroller Gen
eral's recommendations as relates
to the early enforcement of collec'
tion of tuxes. That part of the
controler’s recommendation should
it pass, would legally remove from
tax collectors of the state favorisms
so often asked and proves very em

We are reliably informed that
Cornelia, Ga., is on tiie eave ot a
substantial boom. There is a flour
ing mill being constructed now,and
there will soon be constructed a
fil'Y thousand dollar cotton facto
ry. With oilier prosperous indus
tries already established there und
nnd having one of the best schools
in North East Georgia, and one of
the best equipped school building
in faculty and otherwise, in this
section, good hotel accomodations,
and a wide awake citizenship, with
two railroads, we see nothing to
hinder that town from becoming,
at «m early day. an important com
mercial and education canter. The
success of towns is like the success
of individuals, it comes only by
effort, and it seems that the citi
zens of Cornelia are combined and
are a unit ia this direction.
