A GOOD BOY GONE
At 4 o’clock Saturday evening
September. 1st, all that was mortal
of Balcum H. Barnes ceased to ba
and all was quite and still. That
which was immortal passed unto the
land beyond, from vAence no trav

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. B.
H. Barnes, bom, June 28th, 1881, In
Ware county. Died September 1st,
1917, at hi» father's home, where he
lived near Tifton, and was buried at
Zion Hope church, Rev. D. C. Rai
ney conducting the funeral rites
whieh were witnessed by a very largo
audience of friends together with his
relatives.
He .was of the ' Primitive belief,
looked nfter affairs pertaining to his
i, paid his debts, hsi^ned no one;
obedient to father and mother. He
was a good boy and will be missed

Mr. W. J. Horne died at his hom^
in Valdosta last night following a
stroke of paralysis which occurred
several days ago. He was never
conscious after being stricken and
died last night. The funeral and
interment will .take place at Nash
ville today.
Mr. Horne was 52 years old and
ia survived by a wife and other rel
atives, Mrs. W. A. King, of Tifton,
being his sister. Mrs. King left this
morning for Nashville to attend the
