A CRUEL WORD
When we send forth a cruel word,
Into this world^of ours.
We needn't think it will pass un
heard
Or lodge among the flowers.
For it wings its flight straight to «
heart.
With twice the forde as sent.
And pierces like a poisoned dart
Oft times where it wasn't meant
So when our hearts begin to burn
rer a friend's unkind remark
Remember 'tis only the eayly return
' our own unfriendly bark.'
