That the material used in the
construction ol LaFayette’s new
water and light plants shall be
first class in every particular and
that every specification of the
contract shall be carried out t»y
the contractors is the determina*
tion ot the city council. As a
safeguard to the citizens of the
towD, the council has contracted
with D. S. Brown, a consnlting
engineer of Carrollton, to supe
vise all the work |on the muni
cipal plants.
Mr Brown comes very highly
recommended and is considered
thoroughly competent to look
alter the interest of the towu in
in the expenditure of the bond
money. He reached LaFayette
this week and will devote his
entire time to the job until the
plants are turned to the city and
are accepted by the city council,

where his dear body -now rests.
